James dies in the first few minutes after the ramp of his LCT lowers The Company L lands between Easy Red and Easy Green between the German defenses wn 65 and wn 67. On this evening of June 6, 1944, 34,250 men and 2,870 vehicles set foot on the Norman territory against only about 2000 Germans. The 29th Infantry Division lost 2,440 men, the Company H of the 116th Infantry Regiment almost lost all of these men.
