On this day of August 6, 1944 after they completed their bombardment mission over the bridge in Oissel (Seine Maritime 76 - Normandy ).

The left engine badly hit by Flak fire in Louviers… The mechanic will jump off the plane at 5000 feet

I undersigned Troche Eugène, farmer in Louviers, certify that I recovered two allied airmen's bodies from a burning Type-Martin plane, fallen on 8/6/1944, after 1955.

These bodies were put down in sheets and carried to the Louviers cemetery by me.

One of the names quoted by Mr Troche : John H. LAPOINTE
