The 400th was established on February 22, 1943 and it was activated on April 05, 1943 at Fort Knox KENTUCKY. April 22, 1944 the battalion leaves the port of New York and it arrives in England on April 30, 1944 The 400th armored field artillery battalion lands on the Normandy coast on July 17, 1944 The 400th was equipped with 105 mm Howitzer Self Propelled On his arrival in France the 400th is assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division in August he will be assigned to the 90th Infantry Division. |
