On Sunday, August 6, 1944, the American troops penetrated into the Malvinas region called Fortress of Saint-Malo.
The morning of this Sunday was so confusing that at 11 o'clock shots from the 83rd Infantry Division fell on Saint-Malo.
The Germans replied immediately, and it was under these conditions that the American GI was killed by shell shrapnel in Paramé.
On 13 August 2004, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Saint-Malo, a plaque was unveiled in homage to the Town Hall of Paramé.
The morning report for August 10, 1944, at page 14, indicates that Leo J BRADY joined the K Company Unit of the 330th Infantry Regiment on August 5, 1944.
Page 11, for August 8, indicates that he died in action on August 6, 1944.
