STORY

It was in 1947 that PFC Clarence N BUSH was declared dead


The 32nd Armored Regiment is activated on April 15, 1941 Beauregard LOUISIANE Camps, assigned to the 3rd Armored Division.


The 32nd is moved to Fort Polk LOUISIANA on June 14, 1941 for his basic training and the men learn to operate their tanks


July 1942 the division trains in the Mohave desert.

September 1943 boarding for England at the port of NEW YORK

 

Arrived in England the regiment is stationed in a camp in the Wiltshire Codford area to train in combat.


On June 26, 1944 the regiment which is assigned to Combat Command A, has its baptism of the fire in Villiers Fossard

 

Killed on the side of Juvigny, his tank is hit by a panzerfaust


Clarence was the first loader of a tank that was commanded by staff sergeant Arthur L STOLAN.


On August 1, 1944 the tank that leaves a place 6 miles southwest of Brecey, objective: to seize and fix the heights around the city of St Barthelemy (city north of Mortain and east of Juvigny)


On August 2nd, 1944, his tank column is in progress, Clarence is at his position in the tank.


His tank and another are separated from the rest of the unit when they are attacked by the Germans near Juvigny, he is hit by a Panzerfaust on the side of the turret loader. the tank explodes and burns.


The other four members of the tank manage to get out of the carcass.


Two died of their wounds, including Staff Sergeant Athur L STOLAN.


Another member of the crew was taken prisoner
