P-38 Lightning pilot (s / n 44-23651) shot down by Flak around 12:15 during the Battle of Falaise

Captain Cranmer attempts to land with a wing in flames but the plane explodes on landing, the takeoff took place from the A-11 field of Saint-Lambert (14) with the mission of strafing on the sector of Broglie (27) to cut the roads to the German reinforcements
