Le Douglas A 20 J - 15 DO (F-3A) 43-21466, du 10th Photo reconnaissance Group, 155th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron, avec trois aviateurs à bord :

This crew left the Chalgrove UK base on a photo reconnaissance mission, towards Torigny Sur Vire.
The aircraft was no longer seen or heard after take off.

This crew is officially registered lost, with a death date of July 18, 1944.
The body of the co-pilot was found on the beach near Régneville sur Mer.

We can therefore assume that the aircraft crashed in the channel (Arm of the sea).
F / O Richard T. LYNCH was buried in the communal cemetery, near the church, until 1948.

 

On February 10, 1945, S / Sgt Nathan L LEPSELTER was buried in the US Military Cemetery at Marigny, near St LÔ, Plot N, Row 4, Grave 74.

 

The 3 bodies are now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery in St James.
