STORY

 

The 83rd Infantry Infantry is reactivated on August 15, 1942.

She starts her training at Camp Atterbury in INDIANA.

In September 1943 she moved to Camp Breckinridge.

In April 1944, she leaves her lands for Great Britain.

She will continue her training in Wales.

She landed on Omaha Beach on June 18, 1944.

She will begin fighting in Carentan eight days later and will end up 80 km from Berlin by making contact with Russian soldiers in April 1945.

It will go through Périers, Sainteny, Coutances St Lo ....

In August of '44, he frees St Malo

Charles will die around St Meloir des Ondes on August 11th 44
