STORY

The memorial contains a stela on which are the names of the 75 Americans who fell during the fighting for the liberation of Plabennec and Plouvien on 8 and 9 August 1944;

On Monday, August 7, 1944, units of the 6th DB US, coming from Utah Beach, bivouacked to the north of Brest whose 44th BI, the Field Artillery Battalion and the 68th Tank Battalion.

The following day, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, these American units will undergo a shelling by six batteries of the group 805 Flak of the defense of Brest.
