STORY

At around 4 a.m. on June 6, 1944, the first 6 LCA of the 551st Assault Flotilla were launched by transport "SS Empire Javelin", in rough seas, with the men of Company A / 116 already on board.

Ensign George "Jimmy" Green, sailor responsible for leading them to Omaha Beach (Dog Green sector in front of Vierville) dies on D-Day on the beaches of Omaha Beach

 

Robert was hit in the head (concussion front region).

He did not die instantly but died as a result of these injuries.

Buried in the provisional cemetery of St Laurent (P - 05 - 90)
