Excerpt from page 3 of the MACR: Aircraft took off from Honington, England at 0910 for B-58 by way of corridor 18. There were four (4) aircraft of this squadron who took off on the same mission before the mission aircraft. All of whom claimed there was an approximate drift of 14 degrees to the right causing one to pass over Dunkirk and each of whom was fired on by anti-aircraft (Pilots of three (3) aircraft claim to have stayed in Corridor 18, but were also fired upon). It is presumed that a similar incident happened to the missin aircraft but that it did not escape the anti-aircraft fire. |
