STORY

Tec 5 Thompson Arnold, born 23 Jun 1916 in Palmetto, Georgia, was the son of William and Hattie Arnold of Campbell County, Georgia.

Thompson's mother died sometime before the 1920 census.
In the 1920 census 4-year-old Thompson is living with his widowed father and siblings Robert 18, Mildred 15, Will 12, Millard 10, Nelson 8, and A.D. 7, on a farm Rivertown District of Campbell County, Georgia. Rivertown is 26 miles WSW of Atlanta.

In the 1930 census 14-year-old Thompson is living in the household of his sister Mary and her husband Philmore Varner and their son Leroy 18, with Arnold siblings Mildred 25, Willie 22, Millard 20, and Nelson 18, at 249 Lawshe Street SW in Atlanta.

On his Oct 1940 draft registration 24-year-old Thompson is still living with his sister Mary at 225 Chappell Street in Atlanta.
