Husband of Margaret Virginia Fetyko who resided in Gaithersburg, Maryland after the war. Father of David Fetyko. Charles served as a Major, Headquarters, 3rd Battalion, 112th Infantry, 28 Infantry Division during World War II. He resided in Bradford, McKean County, Pennsylvania and was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard prior to the war. He enlisted in the National Guard on February 22, 1930 in Pennsylvania. His National Guard unit was called into full time active Army service on February 14, 1941, prior to the war, from Bradford, Pennsylvania. Charles "Died Of Wounds" received in battle on August 7, 1944 in France. He was awarded the "Silver Star" and the Purple Heart. At the families request the state of Maryland was added to his headstone instead of Pennsylvania, his state of residence prior to the war. Charles also has a "Cenotaph" in the Saint Bernard Cemetery, Bradford, Pennsylvania.
