John Osburn Clark, compagnon de machiniste aéronautique, 3e classe, marine des États-Unis, a été tué au combat le 8 juin 1944 lors de l'invasion de la Normandie, en France, lorsque l'escorte de destroyer sur laquelle il servait en tant qu'ingénieur diesel a été perdu. Né le 17 octobre 1923 de Richard J. et Minnie Wahl Clark de Wheeling, John a laissé une veuve, Wanda Dale Clark, et une fille, Joann. Il était diplômé de la Central 1941 et a travaillé à la Continental Machine & Foundry Co. avant la guerre. Clark a reçu le Purple Heart et figure parmi les Tablets of the Missing au Normandy American Cemetery. |
