Au retour d'une mission les deux hommes tombèrent nez à nez sur un groupe de FW 190, le Lieutenant Mc ALLISTER en abattis un avant d'être lui même abattu.

En voulant s'éjecter il s'étrangla avec les sangles de son parachute.

C'était le 15 juin 1944 au dessus de Pierrepont, il volait à bord d'un P47.

Le Lieutenant Mc Allister fut retrouvé par des membres de l'armée canadienne présente dans le secteur, il fut inhumé dans un petit cimetière au nord de Pierrepont par un protestant Champlain de l'armée canadienne avant d'être transféré au Cimetière de St James ou il repose pour l'éternité.

Le Lieutenant Mc Allister faisait partie de la 388th Fighter Squadron,365th Fighter Group, il était originaire de Caroline du Nord
