STORY

His biological parents were Robert and Minnie, but his mother died of the flu 7 weeks after he was born. It is Minnie’s sister who takes care of Robert and becomes his mother. As a young adult, he marries Dorothy on July 14, 1939; his wife gives birth to a little Sallie whom Robert will never see.

Robert joined the American army following the steep of Pearl Harbor, he became involved in the naval air program, and became a pilot of B 17, he and his crew of 10 men were stationed at Framlingham in England, and in October 1942, they were assigned to the 371th Bomber Squadron.

Their mission on 18 March 1944, to bomb a Messerchmitt ME 109 assembly plant over Augsburg in Germany, but the Rik-O-Shay III was shot down by 6 fighters.

Only 3 parachutes were seen, without knowing what happened to the 3 airmen.

Story :

The lieutenant and his crew had 2 mascots: Scrappy, the dog, and Joe, the little monkey.

Scrappy arrived on the crew during training in the United States, and he will go to England as well.

As for Joe, he was picked up from a nearby station.
