|
On July 11, 1944, the 2nd Infantry Division was ordered to resume the offensive, heading the 23rd Infantry Regiment and the 38th Infantry Regiment. They are supported by a powerful artillery support (8 battalions of artillery) The artillery will fire on fire as during the First World War. The airplanes and tanks supported them in this progression toward the Hill 192 objective. They succeeded in removing the hill at the cost of many victims. The road to St. Lo - Bayeux was now under control. In front of these two regiments the 9th German parachutist regiment. | |||||||
