The Edwards crew arrived at Harrington on 13 December 1944 as a replacement crew for the later departures of the summer crews. They are pictured here with the aircraft they ferried to the UK, B24 43-95576. On a training flight over France, their plane crashed near Lyon, France on 6 February 1945. All aboard save Burt were killed, Cathers (Gunner) was not on the flight. The bombardier in the photo is known only as "Stewart", he was replaced by Edwin London before the fatal mission. | ||||||
