| STORY | |||||||
|
Source : Victor Daniel | It was during his second year of study that Walter JUVE decided to become involved.
After his classes he volunteered to join a mountain unit. Later he joined the training camp to join the recent 1st Special Service Force, an elite troupe that would operate on the Mediterranean theater. These would specialize in any type of operation among the hardest to conduct; snowy environment, amphibious invasion, mountain combat... He joins his unit at the time of the landing in Provence while the 1st SSF operates with the 1st Airborne Task Force. He participated in the whole campaign from mid-August until his death on the front line on 12 September 1944, fighting then at the Franco-Italian border. | ||||||
