In 1939 he married Julia J with whom he had two sons, one born in 1941 the second the year after.
He joined the 12th Air Force headquarters squadron on the Mediterranean Theatre. | ||||||
On 7 October it took off from the Istres-le-Tubé airfield at the controls of a B-26 Marauder towards Sardinia.
He had on board two French airmen and had to join Elmas to bring back six other FAFL personnel.
While flying over the sea, the aircraft did not transmit any radio or visual signals. The crash was confirmed shortly thereafter. By the end of the war the debris of the Marauder will be recovered by French but will not allow to identify the passengers with certainty. |
