PVT 1st Class Frank A. Zawicki was born on September 1st 1919 in Meriden, Connecticut. To his parents Daniel P. And Anna Zawicki. He had 4 sisters and 4 brothers. ( CPL Anthony US Army and PVT of US Army Air Corp.) He went to school at Saint Stanislaus Parochial School. Then he went on to college at Wilcox Technical School for two years. His religion was Catholic and was a member of a local church. He worked as a senior skilled mechanistic at New Department Plant, General Motor Corp. He enlisted into the US Army on February 17th 1942. After enlistment, he was stationed In England until WWII. His service number was 31065555. On June 6 1944, he was Killed in action in Ohama Beach. He was with his unit 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry DIV, Company A. He was wounded by Artillery shell. He was awarded the Purple heart for his actions.
